“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.” Hebrews 11:1
This is the beginning to a chapter in Hebrews titled “The Triumphs of Faith.” It’s a very good read! There is an impressive list of Bible heroes, like Moses, Abraham, and Noah, who took great leaps of faith based on “things not seen.” In essence, this is the “problem” of the pro-life cause. The children in the womb are not seen. People arrive for abortions based on a line they saw on a pregnancy test. They have not the faith to realize that there is a soul unseen inside, a life already there, a heart beating inside. Most of these people will never see the baby because the clinics rarely, if ever, show the ultrasound to the mother. It is up to us to be the visible sign of LIFE and of God’s ever present love. We can make the invisible visible. And not just with pictures or posters. Through our words and deeds we can make the joyful spirit of Christmas very real to all we encounter. This verse is also a great comfort thought as so rarely get to “see” a save. We can have faith and conviction that what we hope for will someday be seen. News from last week’s Forest View vigil: **SIX babies were ripped from their mothers’ wombs. ** One woman chose LIFE! As she and another woman pulled up and began walking towards Forest View, I was fortunate enough to be right there. I called out to them about the 17 year-old girl who lost her life during one of Dr. Goyal’s abortions. Although many women hear this, few listen. But this woman did! She immediately came over to talk. June is 36 years-old, married with two young children, but they do not have insurance and she was worried about having a third child. I was able to walk them to the Women’s Center next door and introduce her to the counselor there. ** A short time later June came out of the Women’s Center with all the information she needs. I gave her a stuffed animal for the baby and she left smiling and waving at all of us praying for her there. Thanks be to God! ** We also heard of a save at the Albany Clinic last Thursday. Your prayers on Thursdays (or any other day!) do so much good! Whether offered from home or standing outside of a clinic, they are heard. Let us rejoice and be glad! ** Please keep these two women, June and Maya, in your prayers as they may have more difficulty ahead standing firm in their choice for LIFE. News about your spiritually adopted baby: **Your spiritually adopted baby is in the home stretch now. Brain waves show rapid eye movement (REM) sleep, which means the baby may be dreaming. Her eyelids are opening and closing. There is no doubt that she recognizes her parents’ voices. Pray that she may live to meet them. Sadly it is still legal to have this child aborted at clinics like the Albany Medical Surgical Center in Chicagoeven at her advanced developmental stage and with a 90% chance of survival if born right now. This is no time to stop praying daily for this precious little one! For more information on spiritual adoption go to www.spiritualadoption.org. Other Pro-Life Information: ** You can donate to the pro-life cause just be surfing the net as you normally would! Use the following link when searching the Internet and money is donated to pro-life causes. www.ProLifeInternet.com ** A member of our NWFL community gave her abortion testimony in front of medical students in Milwaukee this past Monday. Although many young med students start out pro-life, by the time they graduate most are pro-chioce. This brave woman was part of a group of women from Silent No More who are trying to change that. You can hear amazing testimonies on line at http://silentnomoreawareness.org/. If you or someone you know is suffering from an abortion, check out this site. Fathers of aborted babies can find hope there too. Advent Prayer for Life God of Life, We rejoice in the promise of your coming. You have sent your Son, born in Bethlehem. He is the Prince of Peace, and The one in whose name all oppression shall cease. May we welcome his coming each day And prepare for his coming at the end of time. May we build a culture that welcomes him By welcoming every child, born and unborn. We pray through the same Christ our Lord. Amen. http://www.priestsforlife.org/
