Our mission is to call to action pro-life individuals
for prayer and peaceful vigils
to end abortion.
We realize that many dedicated people from different churches hold vigils at several abortion facilities in the Chicagoland area. Our goal is to be the uniting umbrella beneath which we can organize our efforts at the clinics. We welcome people of all faiths in the Northwest suburbs (and beyond!) to work together to give women a real choice and babies a real chance.
We hold a peaceful prayer vigil every Thursday at Forest View Medical Center at 2750 S. River Rd., Des Plaines. It is one of Dr. Goyal’s six abortion facilities (His seventh, Dimensions, was shut down!). The Women’s Center is in the building next door (2720 S. River Rd., Ste. 234) which provides a place to store materials and send women for support.
You can be a part of this meaningful endeavor in many ways:
1. Come to Forest View any Thursday between 7:00 am and 1:00 pm and join us! We are especially in need of experienced sidewalk counselors for the early hours and prayer warriors for all hours.
(See below for what to expect at a prayer vigil at a clinic.)
2. If you can’t make it out on a Thursday, join other area vigils. Please contact us for a list. Remember the Lord says, “Be not afraid…for I am with you.” Jeremiah 42:11
3. Go to www.spiritualadoption.org and commit to praying daily for 9 months for a baby in a crisis pregnancy.
4. Spread the word! Encourage others to join us in prayer vigils. Get an announcement in your church bulletin. Invite us to talk at your youth group, Bible Study, Respect Life group, or other meeting.
5. JOIN NorthWest Families for Life by requesting to be on our email list and receive bi-weekly updates filled with inspiration, the latest news from clinic vigils, and upcoming pro-life events.
Please send an email to: NWFL526@gmail.com or call (847-651-4877) to be added to our list.

“Amen, I say to you, whatever you did for one of these least brothers of mine, you did for me.” (Matthew 25:40) We look forward to working with you to save these least brothers and sisters.

What can I expect at a vigil?
- Someone there to greet you with a smile!
- Life affirming signs. We do not use graphic signs during our prayer vigils.
- A vigil kit filled with prayer materials, umbrellas, blankets, and more.
- Time to spend in quiet prayer alongside others with a shared purpose.
- You will NOT be expected to counsel or interact with abortion-bound women. However, if you are interested in becoming a sidewalk counselor, training is available.
- You will NOT be expected to march or chant slogans. But if you’d like to sing songs, God loves a joyful noise!
