“…Arise, walk about the land through its length and breadth; for I will give it to you.” (Genesis 13:17)
This is God’s command to Abram (soon to be Abraham) when Abram arrives in Canaan. After 40 years of legalized abortion in our country, God asks the same of us. It is time to “arise” and walk through our country; Being a light in the darkness; Heralding the Good News; Proclaiming the sanctity of LIFE. This is why the March for Life takes place every year in Washington DC. Tens of thousands of people come from every corner of the country to boldly witness for LIFE. But what about those of us who are unable to make that journey? For those of you who burn with the desire to answer God’s call to arise and walk, in hope that this land will be given to us for LIFE, NorthWest Families for Life, in union with many suburban churches and pro-life groups, invites you to NorthWest Families March for Life: Saturday, January 19, 2013 News from the last three Thursdays’ Forest View vigils: ** On Thursday, November 29, we estimate SEVEN children lost their lives at Forest View. ** One woman CHOSE LIFE! Amy came to Forest View for information about an abortion. When she came out about a half hour later, she came over to our group and asked US for information! We were able to give her brochures about the Women’s Center and the Well of Mercy (www.thewellofmercy.com). Amy told us she was living in an abusive home. She also has a 15 month old son who has been sick. Praise God that this young woman had the courage to leave Forest View that day and please pray for her to use the resources we gave her to bring about a bright future for her and her children. ** On Thursday, December 6, we estimate that THREE women made the “choice” to kill the baby in their womb. ** One of our counselors, Terry, was able to speak to two teens who came for an abortion. Unfortunately, the teens only ridiculed him. However, we are reminded of Matthew 5:11, and we must “rejoice and be glad” that we are given the opportunity to do God’s will, even if some will not listen. ** On Thursday, December 13, we estimate FIVE babies died at the hands of a man who calls himself a “doctor.” ** There was a SAVE that day! Cami and her boyfriend sat in their car for almost a half an hour while we anxiously watched from the sidewalk, holding up signs saying “You can still change your mind” and “We can help you.” Finally, they exited the car and the man hustled the young woman into Forest View ignoring our pleas. About a half hour later they left! At the exit I was able to talk to Cami. She cried as I offered her information about the Women’s Center and told her we would all be praying for her and her son (I had a feeling). I gave her blue baby booties (Now I’m out of blue again!) and a hug. I encouraged the young man to agree that he would be there for her to care for her. We must pray very hard, though, because I fear he will try to push her to abort again. ** There was another amazing blessing that day. An older man pulled up near the sidewalk with a beautiful 18 month old girl. When they got out of the car, I approached him and asked what brought him to Forest View that day. He replied, “The same thing that brought you here.” Roman told me his daughter’s name was Lucia and that today was Feast Day of St. Lucy. It became clear that Roman intended to bring Lucy into the clinic to show the women the beauty of LIFE. He did just that and was asked to leave since live children are not allowed in Forest View. We do not know if any hearts were changed, but we were all touched by this quiet man’s courage. ** Reach out to those who have been harmed by abortion and share God’s love.
