“My soul may sing praise to You and not be silent O LORD my God; I will give thanks to You forever.” Psalm 30:12
Here are a few recent news items. The New York City Department of Health recently reported that upwards of 41% of all pregnancies end in abortion. Nationally, 19.6% of all pregnancies end in abortion. Planned Parenthood receives over $350 million of your tax dollars each year – nearly one-third of its funding comes directly from taxpayers. The Guttmacher Institute, a research arm of the abortion lobby, announced that the national abortion rate rose for the first time since 1990. So what do all those statistics have to do with singing praise and thanks to God? It is in our darkest hours often that we most deeply feel the comforting presence of God. God has not abandoned us or our country. He is waiting, always there, ready to offer strength in time of weakness, comfort in times of sadness, and joy in times of triumph! Yes, those statistics are horrific. Still it is up to you and me to not be silent in these times. Speak out to others that our God is good! He has died and risen again for our salvation. Turn your face to feel the warmth of God’s love. The last two updates have talked about prayer: The first discussed prayer for others and then prayer for yourself. This week let’s all spend some time with Alleluia’s shouting out praise for the God of all LIFE!
