“Behold, children are a gift of the Lord, The fruit of the womb is a reward.
Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, So are the children of one’s youth. How blessed is the man whose quiver is full of them.” (Psalm 127:3-5) In honor of Father's Day, we wanted to thank all of the men in the pro-life movement. Whether you have your own children or only those whom you have spiritually adopted, we appreciate you and we need you! In our society, the role of men and fathers is being attacked and downplayed. In the abortion debate, they are told to stay out because it is a "woman's issue." This Bible verse sets the record straight. Children are a gift of God, not just to mothers, but to their fathers who are "blessed" to have a "quiver" full of kids! So it should be no shock that the loss of a child to abortion affects men as well as women. Yet, men continue to be ignored. See the story from the vigil below. Here's what you can do: - Educate the young men in your life about what true manhood is. There is a terrific little booklet that you can purchase for any young man for about $2 - Pure Manhood by Jason Evert. It tackles many tough topics about relationships. - If you're a man, BE that positive role model of manhood that is so lacking in today's culture. Open doors for others, offer your arm to your wife, lead the family in prayer at meals, talk to your children and others about God. - If you're a woman, encourage the men in your life by building them up through your words and actions. Your respect means more to the men in your life than you may ever know. Happy Father's Day! Thank you, Dads, for all your sacrifices! The website here has a wealth of information about fathers and abortion including healing resources, research studies, articles, and personal stories. News from the May Wood Dale vigils: ** During May at Advantage Health Care in Wood Dale, we estimate that 79 women made a "choice" that will change their lives forever and end the lives of their unborn children. ** I spoke to one woman "C" who came back for her 3 week post-abortive check up. Yes, the women must return to the clinic to make sure their baby is gone. C was crying and told me that her boyfriend pushed her into it. She has since broken up with him. I asked her if she had named her baby. She almost immediately said "Jasmine." We prayed together and I gave her a brochure for post-abortive healing. Please pray for this young woman to find hope and forgiveness and seek out relationships where respect for each other and life reign. ** As mentioned above, men suffer after abortion too. A young man stopped by the clinic to see what we were all about it. He opened up to us and told us that his ex-girlfriend aborted their child 2 years ago without telling him. He was very upset and gratefully accepted information on post-abortive help for men. ** We believe there were 6 SAVES in May! ** On the Saturday before Mother's Day we held our first annual "Bouquets of Blessings for Mother's Day" vigil. Many prayer angels came to surround the clinic with love and hope. Our efforts bore fruit as a young black couple chose life! I gave the young mom flowers, baby booties and information about Avenue Women's Center (the pro-life pregnancy center just up the road from the abortion clinic). Both parents smiled happily as they left. ** One young woman "A" was sitting in the parking lot talking with her friend. A male sidewalk counselor started talking to them. "A" told him that she "can't afford" a baby. He immediately told them about Avenue Women's and even brought them to the center. Unfortunately, the center wasn't open at the time, so the counselor took down their number and they left. Laura followed up with A through text later and confirmed that she is keeping her baby! Laura also gave her the number for Optionline which is a national pregnancy helpline. They are fantastic through text and connect women with the pregnancy center nearest them. "A" texted Laura that she is so grateful to the older male counselor who got her out of the abortion clinic parking lot! ** This story of a baby saved is a great example of how God uses all types of people to save lives: young, old, male, female, experienced, beginner. This older male counselor had only been praying with us for about 1 month and never had any formal training. If you are feeling called to be on the sidewalk for women and children, don't worry that you're not prepared, or don't have the knowledge, or could never do what we do. Just take that leap of faith and let God sort out the details! Email or call us with any questions: 847-651-4877. ** We would love to be able to extend our vigil hours at Wood Dale until 1:00 pm. This way we could be there to see all of the post-abortive women leave. People may wonder why does it matter? It's too late to save the baby. While that's true, it's not too late to save a soul, the mother and father's. We have found that often women are more open to taking literature after the abortion. Many are already beginning to feel the gravity of their "choice." We don't want them to go home thinking no one cares or be told "it's no big deal" by well-meaning friends or, worse yet, become ravaged by guilt and turn to drinking, drugs or suicide. No, we want ALL post-abortive women and men to receive mercy and forgiveness through Jesus Christ. THAT is why we would like to extend our vigil until 1:00 pm on Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays, to insure that women are offered a Project Rachel brochure to be a lifeline for their healing. Can you help?

“Be cheerful with every gift you make… Give to the Most High as he has given to you, just as generously as you can. The Lord always repays and will do it many times over.” (Sirach 35: 9-11)
I really feel like one of the winning edges of the pro-life movement today is cheerfulness. Of course, it doesn’t hurt to have truth on our side, but we also need the joy of the Lord and faith in His goodness. Because we have this unfailing joy and faith, even in our times of need and sadness, we have hope. We can be cheerful in our work for Life because we know that you can never “out-give” God! So let every conversation you have about the pro-life cause emanate with that joy. These conversations can be “gifts” to open someone’s eyes. Do not be dragged into an angry exchange of words. We can give gifts of time cheerfully by volunteering at a crisis-pregnancy center, praying outside an abortion mill, or marching in a local parade under the banner of LIFE. And gifts of treasure can make the difference between life and death for the unborn and their mothers. “The Lord always repays and will do it many times over.” Not that we undertake any of these endeavors for payment, but maybe this thought will inspire you. A special thank you to all of you who joined us for the Good Friday Stations of the Cross at the Wood Dale abortion clinic. Almost 150 people united their voices in prayer for all of the victims of abortion. You can see photos by clicking here. As if the blessing of praying together wasn't enough, God granted us one more: The clinic was closed! We don't know why since they have been open on Fridays since last November, but we suspect it may be because we hold a Good Friday service every year and they didn't want their clients to see such a large group praying for them and their children. Imagine if we could get a crowd like that outside the clinic more often! How many more lives could be saved? News from the March and April Wood Dale vigils: ** During March and April at Advantage Health Care in Wood Dale, we estimate that 138 children were murdered by a man calling himself a doctor. ** One of these children was the seventh child of a couple who came to Wood Dale. The husband told the early morning counselor that they "needed" to abort because the mother's IUD had moved out of place, so they didn't think the baby would survive. Such a strange reason to kill your child. This is yet another sad effect of contraception. People are so confused about the true purpose of marriage and family. I saw the couple come out afterwards and the mother was devastated. She could barely walk and was crying. Please pray for healing for this family. ** THREE women chose Life! One of them was also crying as she left, but they were tears of joy. The sidewalk counselor told her what a great mother she would be and how a year from now the baby would be crawling and bringing her so much happiness! She was overwhelmed with joy! ** We had another blessing last month when a beautiful young woman named Kelly brought her 4 month old son to vigil. She told us how she had talked to me almost 3 years ago as a high school senior walking by the clinic on her way to work at a day camp. That day I had given her a pro-life newspaper from Human Life Alliance. She was pro-life at the time, but little did she know that her pro-life beliefs would be tested only a few years later when she became pregnant. Kelly was up against pressure to abort. In fact, she was driven to an abortion clinic without her knowing what it was. As soon as she figured it out, this brave girl ran out the door, called an Uber, and went home. She stayed strong for her child and baby Christopher was baptized recently! ** This same young woman may have even saved a baby when she came out to vigil another Tuesday. A young man brought his girlfriend to abort a child who was not his, he told us. He started out very apathetic, but when he found out the baby had a beating heart, his conscience began to awaken. I asked him if he ever wanted to have kids. He told me, "Not like this." That's when Kelly stepped in to say, "That other guy may have been the sperm donor, but you can be the father." Slowly, the light went on in the young man's eyes and he went back into the clinic to save this child. We had to leave, so we are not sure how the story ends, but we pray that God's saving hand wrought a miracle for this young couple. ** This brings up a very important point: We would love to be able to extend our vigil hours at Wood Dale until 1:00 pm. This way we could be there to see all of the post-abortive women leave. People may wonder why does it matter? It's too late to save the baby. While that's true, it's not too late to save a soul, the mother and father's. We have found that often women are more open to taking literature after the abortion. “But those who trust in the LORD will renew their strength; they will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not become weary, they will walk and not faint.” Isaiah 40:31
Although this verse is in one of my favorite church songs, I never took the time to really dig into it. At Borrowed Light website, they write, "Isaiah was writing to a despondent Jewish people. They have been in exile for some 70 years. They feel abandoned and have given up hope that the God of justice will act." I feel like, right now, that fits us Illinoisans perfectly! We have been watching our state become the abortion destination of the Midwest for years (Maybe not quite 70!). I'm sure there are many good folks who wonder if God will ever act to bring justice. However, it is times like these that give us, God's hands and feet, unparalleled opportunity to act! More and more people are joining the fight. There is no more "middle ground;" people must choose a side. We will not become weary! Not now. Not ever. We will soar on wings like eagles to offer help to women in need, counsel others about the truth about abortion, and actively be the voice for the unborn. News from January and February vigils in Wood Dale: ** During the months of January and February, we estimate that 113 children were killed at their mothers' request. ** However, 3 brave women chose LIFE! One of the women, "D," came out around 10:00 am. Sometimes women are already leaving at this time, especially those who receive the abortion pill, RU486. So when I saw her exit, I wasn't sure if she was post-abortive. The smile on her face and open demeanor, however, gave her away! She chose LIFE and was on the phone sharing the news with her husband who was overjoyed! D was dropped off by Uber at the clinic at the urging of her mother and mother-in-law who told her she couldn't handle a 4th child and they wouldn't help her. But this brave woman resisted this pressure! When I asked her what changed her mind, she said it was the ultrasound. Shocked that she would see it, I asked for clarification. She told me that the clinic did not show it to her, but the memory of having ultrasounds with her three other children touched her mother's heart. I have been in contact with her through text and she needs our prayers. The family does not have insurance. I am working to get them connected with Avenue Women's Center in Wood Dale to get the support they need. Please pray D will accept all the help we would love to offer. ** We met a new employee, Jake, who came right over to speak to us when he was outside in back of the clinic on a smoke break. He told me that the abortionist explained that he only does abortions because he used to see so many women come into the hospital after trying to self-abort with coat hangers. You and I both know this is untrue. Former abortionist, Bernard Nathanson, admits that he and the co-founders of NARAL made up the numbers of "coat hanger" abortions back in 1973. Read more here. But rather than contradict this young man who very sincerely believed he was helping women, I asked if he had any prior experience with abortion. He opened up that his girlfriend had aborted his child and the relationship soon ended because she blamed him for it. He seemed genuinely sad and yet he somehow didn't make the connection that now he was helping others to inflict that same pain on more men and women. I gave him a Project Rachel brochure and encouraged him to call. Please pray for him. ** Are you feeling called to join a prayer vigil at a clinic but nervous to take that first step? “God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth give way and the mountains fall into the heart of the sea, though its waters roar and foam and the mountains quake with their surging.” Psalm 46:1-3
On Wednesday, February 13, two extreme pro-abortion bills were introduced in the Illinois General Assembly. These bills follow suit with other pro-abortion bills that are flooding the country. They are part of a national strategy by the abortion lobby to keep abortion legal in the event that Roe v. Wade is overturned by the US Supreme Court. If Roe is overturned, abortion again becomes a state decision. This is why these bills are being promoted across the country. They may make us feel like the earth is giving way and the mountains are falling to the sea. But we must not fall with them. We will rise up! This is no time to fear. It is time for action. Below are two opportunities to rise up against these Child Abuse Bills. First, here's what we know about each one so far: HB 2485 Reproductive Health Act - Introduced by Rep. Kelly Cassidy (D), Rep. Chris Welch (D), and Rep. Sara Feigenholtz (D). - Repeals the Illinois Abortion Law of 1975 - Repeals the Partial Birth Abortion Ban Act - Defines abortion as healthcare, basically overturning virtually every regulation on abortion in the state. - Mandates abortion coverage in all private healthcare insurances, forcing us to pay for abortions through our own private insurance plans. HB 2467 Parental Notice Abortion Repeal - Introduced by Rep. Chris Welch (D) - Repeals the Parental Notice of Abortion Act of 1995 - This means girls as young as 13 could get abortions without their parents ever knowing about it. - Makes corresponding changes in the Counties Code, Medical Practice Act of 1987 and the Consent by Minors to Medical Procedures Act. NorthWest Families for Life: Year in Review
** The Blessed News** "Glory in his holy name; rejoice, O hearts that seek the Lord!" 1 Chronicles 16:10 - During 2018 at our 3 times-a-week prayer vigils on the sidewalk outside Advantage Healthcare in Wood Dale, Illinois, God granted us front-row seats to marvel at the work of His mighty hand in SAVING 41 CHILDREN FROM ABORTION. - This is more saves than in 2017 (34 saves) and there were also fewer abortions in Wood Dale this year compared to last (849 lives lost). For those of you interested in statistics, this year our "save rate" was 5% of those who came for an abortion. That may seem like a very low "success" rate, but life isn't measured in statistics. It is measured by the good done and for those 41 families, we pray the good Lord blesses them immeasurably for choosing LIFE! ** The Tragic News** "Blessed are they who mourn, for they will be comforted." Matthew 5:4 - During this same year, a staggering 755 babies lost their lives to abortion at Advantage Healthcare in Wood Dale. And this is only at one abortion clinic in one state. - To put this in perspective, that is the entire population of Watson, IL just south of Decatur. Can you imagine if a whole town of people suddenly died? Although the statistics tell a story, they do not tell the whole story. We must never forget the very personal side of abortion. Each one of those children has left behind a wounded woman and man, the child's mother and father. Please spread the word about programs like Project Rachel. You never know who needs healing. Post this link to Project Rachel on your Facebook page. ** As we mentioned in the December update, there are many changes happening at the clinic in Wood Dale. Dr. Goyal is seeking to retire and has brought in a young new abortionist, Kimberly Remski. This time of transition is the perfect time to ramp up our efforts. - Laura and I are looking for a few passionate pro-lifers to join us in a leadership role in NorthWest Families for Life. Maybe we're looking for YOU! Even if you're not sure if a leadership role is for you, please join us at a Strategy Meeting this Monday, Jan. 21, 7:00 pm, St. Isidore Parish, Fr. John Guiney Room (427 W. Army Trail Rd, Bloomingdale). We will provide an overview of what it's like to counsel at Wood Dale. Check the agenda and different coordinator positions here and see if God is calling you to take on a bigger role this year in shutting down Wood Dale abortion mill. All jobs can be done from home! Thank you for all of your prayer and support in 2018. Laura and Maria ** Are you feeling called to join a prayer vigil at a clinic but nervous to take that first step? Please email or call us. “The time came for her to have her child.”
Luke 2:6 With these simple words, Luke informs us that the time of waiting for a Savior is over. The time for rejoicing has come. The time for God to enter visibly into the world is upon us. I want to focus on those first 3 words, "The time came." Time is such an elusive commodity. Most of us probably feel like we have too little, especially during the Christmas season, but really isn't it always like that? Still the truth is that no matter if we feel like we have too little time or too much time on our hands, God is the one in control of when the time is right. He alone declares the time is come. And it seems to us that the time has come for the Wood Dale abortion clinic. The time has come to shut it down! NorthWest Families for Life has had a presence there for over 4 years, but many things are currently changing. - A young new abortionist, Dr. Kimberly Remski from Michigan, is taking over for Dr. Goyal. Read about her "calling to do abortions" here. - The clinic is changing abortion days from Thursday to Friday. This means that our new vigil schedule at Wood Dale is Tuesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays. - This change in schedule is also impacting our prayer coverage. We need help on Fridays! We've taken these changes as a sign that during this state of flux at the clinic, it's time to redouble our efforts in the New Year. If you are able to join us we could use all prayer hands on deck! Finally, thank you from the bottom of our hearts to all of you who reached out with love and support upon the death of our dad. He is celebrating Christmas with the Birthday Boy Himself! Laura and I wish you and your families a very blessed and Merry Christmas! News from October and November vigils in Wood Dale: ** During the months of October and November, we estimate that 87 women made a choice to take the life of their child. ** However, we were blessed to witness 3 SAVES! Two of them happened after the couple was sitting in the car talking for long periods of time. This busts a common myth that pro-aborts will tell us; they say that there is no point of us being there because people "have already made up their minds." Clearly, these 2 couples had not! Thanks to the loving presence of people on the sidewalk praying for them, they will have a blessed Christmas embracing the gift of life! ** We made contact with the older Indian female anesthesiologist at Wood Dale. It just so happened that I was getting gas after leaving vigil on a Tuesday at the station right next to the clinic when I noticed she was at the pump right next to me! I had given her a letter from Abby Johnson's group "And Then There Were None" a few weeks earlier. She remembered me but said she hadn't called. I introduced myself and she told me to call her "Sanka - like the coffee." Interestingly when I asked her what she did, Sanka told me, "I just clean up." She also said that she prays God will forgive her. I encouraged her to call the number for ATTWN and we parted ways. Please pray intentionally for this daughter of God to take the first step to seeking His forgiveness NOW by quitting her job! ** Are you feeling called to join a prayer vigil at a clinic but nervous to take that first step? "But someone may well say, 'You have faith and I have works; show me your faith without the works, and I will show you my faith by my works.' ... faith without works is useless." (James 2:18-20)
Many churches designate October as "Respect Life Month." Many of us feel that Respect Life Month should be every month! However, designating this month as a special time for reflection and prayer provides a new opportunity to engage others who may BE pro-life but have never actively DONE pro-life. Yes, Pro-life is not just something you are, but something you do. Just as faith without works is useless, so are pro-life beliefs without any action. We know many of you already DO so much for the cause, so perhaps this month you can make it your goal to encourage just one person you know who is pro-life to get out there and DO something pro-life. To help you, we're putting the upcoming events at the top of this update. Find one event below and invite a friend to join you. Maybe Life Chain this Sunday (NWFL is co-sponsoring the one in Arlington Heights). Maybe make it a movie night to see the just-released Gosnell movie with a pro-choice friend or the teens in your life. Maybe sign up for an hour of vigil at a 40 Days for Life site. Or, of course, our favorite... :-) 6th Annual NorthWest Families March for Life St. Theresa Parish, Palatine Saturday, October 20, 1:00 pm. Speakers include: Joe Scheidler, Pastor Ceasar LeFlore, Fr. Paul Mankowski, a woman who chose LIFE, and special guest, author and former LOOP DJ, Kevin Matthews who will lead a Rosary at 12:30 pm before the March. New this year: We're starting in the St. Theresa gym, so expect even more energy as we promote peace by embracing LIFE! Invite your friends with the attached flier, Instagram, or Facebook. News from September vigils in Wood Dale: ** During the month of September, we estimate that 58 women made a “choice” that ended a child’s life and changed their own lives forever. ** There was, however, 1 SAVE in September! A young couple in their late 20's arrived at the clinic. They both went in without acknowledging the sidewalk counselors. However, they came out before long and sat talking in the car. Soon they began to drive out of the lot. At the exit I was able to meet them and offer them information. The woman smiled and accepted it. She told me she was 12 weeks already. I happened to have a fetal model the exact size and weight of a 12 week old baby in my purse. I handed it to her and she marveled at its perfect features. She told me she has 3 kids already and wants this one. They left with the fetal model and a brand new hand-knit pair of booties! God is good! ** An unusual sight was seen on one Tuesday. A couple in their 30's arrived with their 3 children aged from about 10 months to 4 years. The mother would not speak to us at all. She went in and came out several times while the husband sat in the family's van with the children. At one point the whole family actually went in through the side door of the clinic. The clinic does NOT allow born children in the waiting room, so we wondered what was happening. At one point, I offered to adopt the 10 month-old in her father's arms, so they could have their baby and still only have 3 kids. He was shocked I would say that. He then protectively kissed the child. The irony of his failure to protect his youngest child still in the womb was lost on him. Please pray for this family. ** This family's baby and the 57 other tiny human beings who lost their lives this month were lovingly named and prayed for by our sidewalk counselors and prayer warriors. ** Standing vigil is also a ministry to the wider community. We often talk to drivers who deliver goods to the clinic. Some are shocked to hear it's an abortion clinic and others simply don't care. We give them a great brochure called "Sing a Little Louder." Many days a passer-by will stop to ask us what we are doing there, providing an excellent opportunity to educate and inform. We have Human Life Alliance newspapers (www.humanlife.org) with tons of information. This public ministry is one of the reasons why 40 Days for Life 24 hours a day - 7 days a week prayer vigils are such a wonderful opportunity. Check for the one nearest you and step out in faith for an hour! ** Are you feeling called to join a prayer vigil at a clinic but nervous to take that first step? Please email or call us. * Starred have a copy of the Abby Johnson letter to abortion workers. You can print a copy of the letter here. "...you have come to your royal position for such a time as this.” Esther 4:14
If you've never met Esther, get to know her! This Scripture verse is from a time in her life when her Uncle Mordecai asks her to go to the king to request he save the Jews from being murdered. At first, Esther gives an excuse why she cannot; she is afraid to approach the king and speak up to protect her people. However, Mordecai encourages her to not remain silent because it is clear to him that she has been given a position in the king's court "for such a time as this." I can relate to Esther and perhaps you can too. We may be reluctant to approach others to protect the rights of the unborn. Yet, Esther agrees to do it after asking all Jews to pray and fast for the success of her mission. At such a time as this, with so much contention about the nomination of Brett Kavanaugh to the Supreme Court, we need to be bold and speak up for our pre-born brothers and sisters. Think about your circles of influence: at work, at church, in social groups, with your children or grandchildren. Has God put you in a position for such a time as this? Be not afraid to use your influence. We can also follow Esther's lead and fast and pray for a good outcome. Here is a link to a prayer from Priests for Life for our nation as we seek to confirm a pro-life Supreme Court Justice. P.S. Esther is also a good Bible story to mention to those people who don't understand the true feminism in the Bible. A great role model for our young women! News from vigils in Wood Dale: ** During July and August, we estimate that 73 children were killed at the request of their mothers at Advantage Healthcare. ** One of them was a young girl (about 22) named Dulce. We saw her leaving after a surgical abortion on a Tuesday looking so sad and weak. She took a Project Rachel brochure and thanked us. A week later, I noticed Dulce's car in the lot again. She was coming for her post-abortive check up. I approached her and she was very touched that I remember her and cared how she was doing. She told me it had been very hard on her emotionally. I encouraged her to call Project Rachel to seek healing. Please pray she does and becomes an out-spoken defender of Life. ** FIVE women chose Life! - One couple sat in the car arguing. Finally, they started to leave. One of our sidewalk counselors approached the car to ask if they were keeping their baby. The man driving wouldn't answer, but the woman smiled wide and said, "Yes!" Please pray for this woman who may have a hard time if this man is against her decision for Life. - Another woman named Shondra was blessed by a partner who said he will support her decision for Life. She told us that she has more kids at home and knew she couldn't abort this one. She will still have struggles ahead because she is hurting financially, but we pray God will bless them after this acceptance of His gift of Life. Pray for These Abortion Employees
“The harvest is abundant but the laborers are few; so ask the master of the harvest to send out laborers for his harvest.” Luke 10:2
Every month in Wood Dale 67 children on average lose their lives to abortion. Each time this happens, it means another mother, father, and family wounded by a choice they will never be able to take back. At times, the tragedy of abortion can feel so overwhelming. No investigations were conducted. No charges were pressed. However, these children were loved and mourned by those who stood vigil at the scene of their deaths. ** If you can no longer ignore the ache in your heart when thinking of these innocent lives lost, then please join us for the "Life Witness Training" on Saturday, July 28 in Itasca (details above and below). Many left with a gift bag full of resources and a pair of cute baby socks! Pray for These Abortion Employees
“Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses to the life of faith, let us strip off every weight that slows us down, especially the sin that so easily trips us up. And let us run with endurance the race God has set before us.” Hebrews 12:1
Spring has finally come! It's the season of the Resurrection, a time of rebirth and new birth. It's time to "strip off every weight that slows us down." We realize this “race” will not be a sprint. We must dig down deep and “run with endurance” this race to end abortion. The good news is that we are indeed “surrounded by such a huge crowd of witnesses.” The pro-life community is growing! Get connected to others like yourself. Make a resolution to do just one extra action for the pro-life cause this coming month. -If you haven't gone to a banquet, conference, or other pro-life event lately, maybe this is your season. There are so many opportunities, including this Saturday's annual National Day of Prayer and Protest Against Planned Parenthood, sponsored by the Pro-Life Action League. Also, many banquets in May. (See events below). - Take that leap of faith and talk to a friend about abortion. - Send an email or make a phone call to support life-giving legislation or oppose laws hostile to life (like the deceitful ERA that just recently passed in the IL Senate. Read about it here and contact your representative immediately to urge him/her to vote NO.). - Spiritually adopt a baby in a crisis pregnancy and pray every day for his or her safety. - Take part in one of NorthWest Families for Life's weekly prayer vigils at the clinic in Wood Dale or join another vigil near you (listed below). Whatever you do in this endeavor that God has set before you, know that we are all running alongside you (and we'll happily provide nourishment for the journey!) News from vigils in Wood Dale: ** During the months of February and March, we estimate that 120 babies were killed while in their mother's wombs at Advantage Health Care in Wood Dale. - One of the fathers sat in his car and wept while his child was being killed inside. He told a sidewalk counselors that they have 3 kids at home. The counselor even offered to adopt his child. He would not listen to any of our pleas or offers of help. Pray for his healing and the healing of this whole family. Abortion greatly affects men as well as women. If you know a man or woman hurt form abortion, let them know that they are not alone and there is hope and healing. Here is one site specifically for men. And here is one for women. ** However, 4 women chose LIFE in those two months! - One couple pulled into the lot and sat arguing in the car for awhile. Then they just left! - Three others left before the abortionist, Dr. Vinod Goyal, showed up. ** We continue to reach out with compassion and God's love to all of the employees at the clinic. The nurses often come out to have a smoke just after the abortions are done, while the women are in recovery. Recently, I called out to two of them with information about Abby Johnson's group www.abortionworker.com. The older woman, whom I've interacted with before, responded, "Mind your own business." I informed her that this IS my business. Then I let her know that caring about her is part of my business. After brushing me off, she herded the younger employee inside, but not before I told them they were both beautiful daughters of God. Please pray their hearts will be touched. ** With the warmer weather, it's easy to come out to vigil for an hour! Let us know when we can meet you out there at the foot of the cross.
